WHAT IS THIS?
This is the first Fractured Genesis newsletter, a tool we'll be using from now on to compile the things we wanna show this month, alongside transparency in development and how things are going on that end as well.
OK, BUT WHY?
Well first off, quality control. I know ya'll are getting a little tired of these small teasers that relly ammount to nothing past "oh thats cool" so we wanna make these newsletters, make em actually feel worth the wait! (Also so we stop being "render slop" as one might call it.) SO by running it through here, we focus more on higher-quality and more engaging teasers.
Also, so fans like YOU know what is shown off by being able to backlog via the newsletter archive instead of having to look through a TON of Discord messages and slop.
DEVELOPMENT
As you know, we've taken very valuable feedback and are better working to improve on the base game system! We understand your concerns over loops but I promise you we have solutions to those issues.
ADDITIONALLY we recently hired a new balancing consultant, Leatherbound! You may know them from Sonic Freedom Fighters, a fellow asym. They will be assisting me with things like this!
Additionally we're standing pretty good on development, obviously miles to go but we're making steady progress. Right now we're working on a unique way of testing our movement in game and refining our base code a lot.
THIS MONTH'S TEASERS?
Well! This site is the big thing for the month! Nick and MonkeyPopper have been working hard to help set up this lovely site for you all, and Nick is currently the one helping set the format up for me so I can easily edit these myself later.
As I mentioned before, teasers as a whole will be slowed down a lot, so that way we're allowed to quality control and make sure we're showing only what we want to be shown.
ENDING NOTE
With that I must say goodbye. This is gonna be the shortest newsletter so don't worry about the next one being short. We want to get the concept of this thing out there as a proper explanation on why we're gonna be going kinda dark. Last time we had an unorganized big teaser it didddd.... not go well. I hope with these we won't have something that bad happen again.
We're obviously gonna be active in the Discord but we're not gonna show anything off till the next letter is ready! I hope to see you then!
